The Occidental at Xcaret Destination is a nature lover's paradise

With its 765 rooms and 11 restaurants spread over 25 hectares, the Occidental Grand Xcaret might seem like an overwhelming resort. Surrounded by lush nature, we soon found out that the charm sets in as soon as we arrived in the huge front lobby.

Overlooking an interior lagoon with the sea in the distance, parrots energetically welcome us in their own way.

Animals all around

Nestled in an ecological reserve, Occidental at Xcaret Destination is home to a variety of exotic animals roaming free. Whether you're on the way to one of the seven pools, to your room or to the beach, you can enjoy memorable encounters with monkeys, agoutis, coatis, iguanas and deer. The monkeys are particularly active in the trees and do not hesitate to come and say hello to us on our balcony.

Meet your neighbour: Xcaret Park

One of the great benefits of staying at Occidental at Xcaret Destination is its proximity to the Xcaret eco-archaeological park. It takes just five minutes to get there by walking. You can also go via the lagoon aboard a boat.

Swimming in cenotes under stalactites, discovering ancient Mayan ruins, river trips... there are so many activities that it is impossible to do everything in one day. The solution? Guests of Occidental at Xcaret Destination can get a package which gives guests unlimited access to the park for the duration of their stay. On site, a rotating observation tower offers a spectacular aerial view of the surroundings, predominately forest.

Espectacular, Mexico's biggest singing and dancing show that traces Mexican history from pre-Hispanic times to today, is not to be missed. Every evening, 7,000 spectators gather in an outdoor amphitheater to see 250 artists on stage. Make sure to arrive early because this production is very popular.
