Drum roll, please...here's an overview of the most anticipated Caribbean hotel openings in the coming months.

Cuba

Muthu Imperial Cayo Guillermo

This luxurious 500-room adults-only hotel will feature five restaurants (one buffet and four themed), three bars, an entertainment room, a spa and a small shopping centre with shops.

Projected opening date: end of 2018, beginning of 2019

Rainbow Muthu Cayo Guillermo

This 248-room, five-star hotel is located in Playa Playuelas (just off Cayo Guillermo). It will be the first hotel in Cuba aimed at LGBTQ+ customers.

The resort will accommodate an adult clientele, operate five restaurants (including Indian specialty and Asian specialty), three bars, an entertainment room and water facilities.

Projected opening date: June 2019

Paradisus Los Cayos

Built in natural surroundings in Cayo Santa Maria, this modern ecological complex has been designed in harmony with the coastal landscape. Comprising three and four-storey bungalows with 802 suites, it will offer three separate sections, each with their reception and independent pools.

Projected opening date: December 2018

Costa Rica

Planet Hollywood Beach Resort

This new luxury resort consists of 294 rooms, two swimming pools, six restaurants and two bars. Built amid the lush landscapes of Costa Rica, it offers panoramic views of the Gulf of Papagayo and offers guests a Hollywood VIP experience.

Jamaica

Riu Palace Tropical Bay

Nestled on Negril Beach, Riu Palace Tropical Bay has been completely refurbished. The 416-room hotel features three swimming pools, five restaurants and five bars, and includes a brand new building, upgraded rooms and expanded facilities.

Projected reopening date: October 20, 2018

Mexico

Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres Resort & Spa

Surrounded by lush greenery, the property offers 673 suites, seven themed restaurants, three bars and five pools. There is also the first tennis center Rafael Nadal outside Majorca, the hometown of the champion.

Projected opening date: November 1, 2018

TRS Coral Hotel

Built with sustainable materials on the Costa Mujeres beach, the adults-only property offers avant-garde design with 473 luxurious suites. Guests have access to the facilities and restaurants of the Grand Palladium Costa Mujeres & Spa located next door.

Haven Riviera Cancun Resort & Spa

Located between Cancun and the Riviera Maya, this 5-star property has 333 rooms, three swimming pools and five restaurants. It offers an adult clientele a stay focused on well-being.

Paradisus Playa Mujeres

Paradisus Playa Mujeres is located near Isla Mujeres, on the coast on the outskirts of Cancun. It will have 498 rooms, four swimming pools, six bars and seven international restaurants. The amenities offered will include the signature services of Paradisus hotels.

Projected opening date: first quarter 2019

Riu Palace Costa Mujeres

This new complex located on the beach of Bahía de Mujeres will have more than 670 rooms. The facilities will include five pools including two with swim-up bar and a private area on the beach with hammocks and umbrellas.

Proposed opening date: November 17, 2018

Sandos Palm Bay Playacar

Located on Playacar Beach in Playa del Carmen, the luxury hotel will consist of 314 rooms in seven buildings. It will include a water park.

Projected opening date: April 2019

Sunscape Star Cancun

Located in the Cancun Hotel Zone, five minutes from the Isla Mujeres Ferry and not far from the Puerto Cancun Golf Club, the resort will be the first Sunscape hotel that is a new construction. It will include a wave pool for stationary surfing and an adult rooftop pool for Sun Club guests.

Dominican Republic

Grand Memories Punta Cana and Grand Memories Splash

Closed for two months for renovations and the addition of new equipment, the Memories Splash Resort will reopen under two resorts: Grand Memories Punta Cana and Grand Memories Splash.

Grand Sirenis Punta Cana

The Grand Sirenis Punta Cana Resort Casino & Aquagames will reopen its luxuriously renovated resort complex with a new concept that builds on a modernized, local essence, with elegant design and lush greenery.

Consisting of two hotels, Grand Sirenis Cocotal Beach Resort and Grand Sirenis Tropical Suites, the five-star property is located in one of Punta Cana's most beautiful coconut groves.

Grand Bahia Principe Aquamarine

Formerly known as Luxury Bahia Principe Ambar Green, the Grand Bahia Principe Aquamarine will offer relaxation and entertainment in a unique setting for adults. With 498 rooms, the property in Punta Cana offers wine tasting, mixology, table games and theme nights with music.

Luxury Bahia Principe Ambar

Luxury Bahia Principe Ambar (formerly Luxury Bahia Principe Ambar Blue) is a luxury hotel for adults only. Located in Punta Cana, it will offer 528 superior junior suites, spacious and elegantly appointed, spread over several three-story villas.

Melia Punta Cana Beach Resort and Melia Caribe Beach Resort

Meliá Hotels & Resorts has split its Meliá Caribe Tropical property into two distinct properties: Meliá Punta Cana Beach Resort for adults-only and Meliá Caribe Beach Resort for families both located on the beachfront in Playa Bávaro.

The Meliá Punta Cana Beach will offer 546 junior and luxurious suites divided into four categories and the Meliá Caribe Beach Resort will feature 599 junior suites and spacious suites, divided into six categories, six pools, eight restaurants and eight bars.

The Grand Reserve at Paradisus Palma Real

This all-inclusive family-friendly hotel in Punta Cana will feature 288 spacious suites, in addition to 144 Circle by Melia suites members' suites.

There will be seven bars and restaurants, a children's water park and access to the services of the neighboring Paradisus Palma Real and The Reserve at Paradisus Palma Real Resort under the Stay at One program. & Play at Three.

Sanctuary Cape Cana by Playa Hotels

Built on a cliff by the ocean, this luxurious adults-only resort in Punta Cana has been completely transformed after extensive renovations. It is composed of 323 sumptuous suites, five à la carte restaurants and five swimming pools, one of which is saltwater.

Open since September 1; the opening of the new tower is planned for December 1.

TRS Cap Cana Hotel

The brand new TRS Cap Cana is located in the most exclusive part of Punta Cana. It will allow adult guests to escape to a luxurious oasis of 115 upscale suites.

St. Lucia

Coconut Bay Beach Resort & Spa St. Lucia

Closed last September to modernize its infrastructure, the establishment is located on 34 hectares of the south coast of Saint Lucia.

It has 250 rooms in the Splash family section and the Harmony adult section. It has the largest water park on the island.

Sint Maarten - St. Maarten

Planet Hollywood Sint Maarten

Sunwing Travel Group, which announced the acquisition of the Sonesta Great Bay Beach Resort in Sint Maarten last year, will reopen it under the Planet Hollywood banner. Located in Great Bay, the resort will include 450 rooms, five restaurants, a casino, a beach club and a spa.

Sonesta Ocean Point Resort and Sonesta Maho Beach Resort, Casino & Spa

Sonesta Ocean Point Resort offers breathtaking views of Maho Bay. Adjacent to the Sonesta Maho Beach Resort, Casino & Spa, this adult resort of 129 luxurious suites will include three pools, four bars and two restaurants. Guests will have full access to all services and facilities at the Sonesta Maho Beach Resort.

The Sonesta Maho Beach Resort, Casino & Spa will become the largest all-inclusive family resort in Sint Maarten. Located on the south-west coast of Sint Maarten, the 416-room hotel includes five restaurants, five bars and a pizzeria.
